What a brilliant day. It began badly when we had to wake up at eight to let in the insulation man so he could get into the loft and played some Uno before going back to sleep when he left. We eventually got up at eleven and got ready to head over to Donington. Our original plan was to catch the train to Derby from Leicester and then get one of the shuttle buses over to the festival but for some stupid reason, the last train home was 21:40. Not great when the headliner doesn't finish until half ten..... So James drove to East Midlands Parkway and then we caught the shuttle bus from there. Cunning as it worked out to be much cheaper! Got to the site and immediately bumped into Ben Lloyd with Ollie and Robbie but pretty instantly lost them in the crowd. Met up with Kieron for Killswitch Engage whose lead singer is a lovely man who always wears smart shirts on stage, before finding a good spot on the hill for Them Crooked Vultures and eventually AC/DC. The latter didn't perform on the Main Stage - they had their own stage set up just to the left of it. Their set was brilliant - there was the front of a steam train, fire, canons, a big blow-up woman with massive boobs and ended with some lovely fireworks! Now that is what I call a show. We're just heading back to the uni house for a shower, some Quavers and a bed. Houses are so the new camping.
