Some of the girls came round earlier to celebrate my degree result and the England football team beating Slovenia and going through to the next round of the World Cup. The game was amazing and they played so much better than they have done in the previous matches! Defoe scored a great goal with his shin which made me and Pargey jump up and down in the lounge in celebration and the game is now being called 'The Win of the Shin'. The British are so imaginative. Pez and Shep came round at six and we had pizza and garlic bread, although as Shep hates cheese, she brought her own tomato soup. She had to go off to a night shift at the hospital but as she left, Claire arrived. We then had some champagne that Margey and Pargey bought me for getting my degree and we toasted degrees in general as Claire has one more year and Pez hasn't had her results yet. The weather was so lovely that we sat in the garden until half ten with champagne and Shloer. Lovely summer evening.
